David has specialized in insurance for the medical profession since 1983 when he joined his father at Ralph Lumsden & Associates. Together they were one of the first regional representative offices for Medical Group Insurance Services (MGIS). David has helped numerous Physicians, Surgeons, Medical Group Practices, Medical Schools, and Hospitals navigate through their insurance, risk management, liability and employee benefit plans.

David is a past speaker for:

• Springfield Association of Life Underwriters
• Life Underwriters Training Council - Disability Insurance Course Moderator

David is a Qualifying and Life Member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) by demonstrating exceptional product knowledge, expertise, strict ethical conduct, and outstanding client service.  Fewer than 6% of all insurance producers achieve MDRT membership.

Service & Sales Manager

Marian has been in the insurance business  since May 1986. She first worked as a customer service representative with specialty risk coverages.

Marian started with Lumsden & Associates in November 2019 in service & sales. As a Disability Income Associate, Marian has in depth understanding of how an injury or illness can lead to a substantial financial loss and how disability income insurance can protect against the risk.

(1989 - 2017)

From 1989 through 2017 (28 years) Dianna was an integral part of Lumsden & Associates, Inc. working side by side with David.  Dianna developed and managed the agency's computer systems plus trained, mentored and  managed the agency's Customer Service Representatives and more.  Her contributions were indispensable and are attributed in helping with the agency's growth and success.

FOUNDER (1960 - 1994)

Ralph began his insurance career in 1954 as an agent with Loyal Protective Life Insurance Co. selling Disability Insurance door-to-door in Waterloo, Iowa. Ralph’s success as a “Loyal Leader” provided his introduction to Monarch Life Insurance Co.. In 1960 Monarch hired Ralph as a General Agent, opening an agency in Springfield, IL. Ralph established his agency by working with Physicians and Surgeons as Monarch was the premier Disability Insurance company at that time.

By 1969, as most Physicians and Surgeons formed their own group practices, Ralph became the first Regional Representative for Medical Group Insurance Services (MGIS), serving territories in Illinois and Indiana. MGIS was exclusively endorsed by Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) and American Group Practice Association (AGPA) with specialization in Physician and Surgeon Group Long Term Disability Insurance (LTD).
